Layton & Johnstone Bye Bye Blackbird
Today is pre-Depression-Era music by the African-American cabaret duo Turner Layton and Tandy Johnstone. The album is Bye Bye Blackbird. I don't have the song list but listening to any of the olde musick should indicate, within 30 seconds, the song title I believe.
I also played Sunday Morning Coming Down (Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson versions) as well as Sunday in Savannah by Nina Simone!
And talked about my acquisition of an Alexander McQueen dress.

Old Timey Show Recap
Today's show was fantastic. I played songs from "Down in the Basement - Joe Bussard's Treasure Trove of Vintage 78s" given to me by my artist-friend, Eric Drooker. You can find this album on Old Hat Records. I interviewed writer-illustrator, Ali Liebegott who was both hilarious and charming, of course. Read more, contact her, and get her books by checking out www.aliliebegott.com You can listen to the pod-cast through the Pirate Cat Radio page- www.piratecatradio.com
Next week, no guest. The following Sunday, August 10th, I'll have on the show writer-photographer-Sister Spit veteran, Sara Seinberg.

My shows are podcasted! My voice sounds funny.
I had a great first hour of show this morning only to find out when my girlfriend sent me a text message that it wasn't on the air!! Tragedy! And it had been such a great hour. But it turns out I can listen to it, anybody can, by going to my show on the DJ schedule and then clicking on today's podcast 7/20. I'm listening to it right now and I feel vindicated. Not bad. This was show #3. I had my friend Channing Kennedy on but since it wasn't on air, we didn't bother with the interview so I will rebook him. Next week, 7/27, is the amazing writer and artist Ali Liebegott.
